Below are some of the questions that we are asked often, or questions that we anticipate we might be asked about our services.
We offer courses in first aid, paediatric first aid, and mental health first aid. To view a list of all of our courses, click here.
Yes. We offer bespoke courses that we design according to your needs. If you require a bespoke course, please get in touch.
Our courses are scheduled to your needs. When you book a course we will work with you to deliver your course when you need it.
We will always try to deliver our courses at your place of work, if this is not possible, we will work with you to find another suitable location. We will typically suggest a conference room of a local hotel.
All courses have a maximum student to teacher ratio of 12:1. If you are looking to accommodate larger or smaller groups than this, then please contact us and we will be happy to discuss your requirements.
During the covid-19 pandemic we are limiting our courses to a ratio of 10:1 to enable effective social distancing.
Additional costs may be incurred if you breach the contract made when you book a course. This typically includes last minute cancellation fees, or additional fees if more students are added to the course after the booking is made.
Yes. All of our instructors will bring with them any materials and equipment that will be required by the students on the course.
All courses will require an assessment of the skills learned in order for each person to pass the course. Certificates of achievement will not be given to those who do not pass the course as the assessments are required by the awarding body.
Those who do not wish to take part in assessments will not meet the criteria to pass the course and will only be issued with a ‘Certificate of Attendance’. All students will be given additional assistance, if required, to pass the course as we like to ensure that everybody is able to deliver safe and effective first aid.
The Qualifications Network are the awarding body for all of our qualifications.
As an Awarding Organisation we are regulated by Ofqual, Qualifications Wales and CCEA Regulation in Northern Ireland.
Yes. We have public liability and professional indemnity insurance is legally required to allow us to deliver our courses. We will always have these types of insurance in place on every course, our insurance is provided by Hiscox Insurance, who have won many awards for their services.
If a student fails to attend their course, it will be recorded as an absense and the students’ employer will be informed. Failure to attend will usually result in the student failing their course, however, we understand that emergencies can occur from time to time and so the student may be offered a place on another course, provided their employer consents.
The substituted course will not normally incur a fee as the students place will have already have been paid for if there is a valid reason for absence. This is subject to circumstance and change. Work-related absences will be considered as valid reasons for absence.
If a student fails a course, or fails to attend without good reason, then they will be required to take another course. Their attendance on another course will require the standard payment for courses.
Most first aid qualifications, particularly First Aid at Work ("FAW") qualifications are valid for 3 years and must be renewed after the 3 year period has ended in order to continue to be able to practice first aid. The health and safety executive strongly recommend refreshers every year and we will work with you to enable annual refreshers.
Annual refreshers are strongly recommended but are not required.
